Álava International: Driving innovation at Cutting Edge 2025 and highlighting our role in the HRBT Expansion Project

Álava International, a company of the Álava Group, is an official sponsor of the Cutting Edge 2025 conference , to be held in Norfolk, Virginia, from November 3 to 5.

Our commitment to industry progress goes beyond sponsorship: it is based on active participation and leadership in flagship projects. Since 2021, we have been part of the renowned Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel Tunnel (HRBT) Extension Project, the largest road infrastructure project in Virginia's history.

In this transformational project, Alava International, together with our partner Hana Engineers, acts as Engineer of Record (EOR) for the Instrumentation and Monitoring (I&M) area. Our team, composed of five on-site members and two remote experts, coordinates and supervises all I&M related tasks.

An essential part of our work involves analyzing and interpreting the large volumes of data generated, ensuring that it is ready for review by all key stakeholders, including HRCP (Hampton Roads Connector Partners) and VDOT (Virginia Department of Transportation). This work is critical to ensure the safety, quality and success of the project.
