Every month we find several news items related to industrial fires. Some of them are unavoidable, produced by weather conditions or causes external to the factory, but many others occur due to processes working at high temperatures that are not monitored. We thought that these fires were mainly related to industrial processes, but by investigating and contacting some of our customers (we take this opportunity to thank them for their feedback), we also discovered that they appeared in other fields such as storage, electrical transformers or handling of hazardous substances.

After half a century sensing industry at Grupo Álava, we realized that the same technology we use for process quality or predictive maintenance could help mitigate these fires. These generally result in major disasters: material and economic losses, environmental damage and, in the worst cases, evacuations of the population or loss of human lives.

In order to respond to this problem, we put all our knowledge and efforts into developing a technology that would allow us to help. This is how our Aidan solution came about, which brings together thermographic cameras, visible cameras and a self-developed software. Through these sensors, the solution allows us to prevent fires and avoid false alarms, being able to configure them manually based on the temperatures that appear in the materials or usual processes. Of course, in case of detecting temperatures above the regular parameters, it will also alert the safety officers and can activate the fire extinguishing systems.

At Grupo Álava we are very proud to see how our solutions, in addition to contributing to industrial growth and its corresponding technological innovation, can generate such a positive impact on society.
