Who are they?

Wallbox is a smart charging company on a mission to free us from fossil fuels. To transition to a world where renewable energy dominates, transportation has to be electric. By developing state-of-the-art electric vehicle charging solutions for homes, businesses and cities, we demonstrate more efficient and sustainable ways to use and share energy.

What do they do?

Their electric vehicle charging solutions for homes, businesses and cities take electric vehicle charging to the next level. They are at the forefront of technology, constantly innovating and developing new solutions. Their goal is to make the electric vehicle charging experience as simple as using a smartphone. Therefore, they focus on hardware and software solutions that make electric vehicle charging better.

By opening the pathways for data connections, smart charging enables communication between the car, the utility and the charging operators. They put our customers in control of their charging, allowing them to access, use and share energy as they choose.

About Wallbox

Wallbox is a leading energy management company that manufactures smart charging solutions for electric vehicles. Combining cutting-edge technology with exceptional design, Wallbox creates a smart ecosystem that improves the way we manage, use and store energy. Founded in 2015 and headquartered in Barcelona, its mission is to facilitate the adoption of electric vehicles today in order to make more sustainable use of energy tomorrow.

Envisioning a world free of fossil fuels, Wallbox technology enables people to create, use and share renewable energy in ways they never thought possible. It currently sells to more than 60 countries and has 400 employees, spread across offices in Europe, Asia and the Americas, as well as 2 factories of its own. Wallbox offers four types of chargers, including Quasar, the first bi-directional home charger with advanced bi-directional charging technology, which was recognized with the highest distinction at CES, the world's leading industry technology show. Why contact Álava Ingenieros | Grupo Álava?

Wallbox is growing exponentially in both production and clients. Proof of this is the recent contract signed last April with Iberdrola, a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA, Power Purchase Agreement) on-site to produce, consume and reuse 100% of the energy from the production of its plant and offices, located in the Zona Franca of Barcelona. More information

Wallbox has relied on Álava Ingenieros to make this factory a much more energy-friendly environment, since it also incorporates regenerative systems to test its products and thus reduce the amount of energy demanded from the electricity grid.

This is possible thanks to the combination of AC bidirectional network emulators that allow simulating stable worldwide networks to supply the charger, as well as generating network disturbances such as flicker, variations, dips, over and under voltages, frequency fluctuations, etc.; and AC bidirectional electronic loads that allow simulating the electrical behavior of an electric vehicle.

Thanks to their back-to-back topology of bidirectional 2/4-quadrant operation, these systems re-inject energy into the grid, so that the actual consumption of the installation is from the losses of each of the systems that compose it.
